As is well known to viewers of Rymdkanalen, Summer 2012 did not turn out as expected for PoGOLite -
a balloon-borne X-ray telescope due to be launched from the Esrange
Space Centre. PoGOLite is Sweden's largest balloon project and stands to
shed new light on compact astrophysical object through studies of
polarised X-ray emission. Needless-to-say, the PoGOLite team is looking
forward to summer 2013 and the next launch possibility!
If you have
(or are about to receive) a Master's degree with a major component of
physics, you might be interested in applying for a Ph.D. position at
KTH. The position gives the possibility to join the PoGOLite team and
participate in future balloon flights. You'll also be able to contribute
to the development of new instruments for future missions.
