MMS, Magnetospheric MultiScale (KTH)

MMS, Magnetospheric MultiScale is a 4-spacecraft NASA mission for studying reconnection in the Earth's magnetosphere. KTH and IRF contributed hardware to MMS, primarily to the SDP - Spin-plane Double Probe electric field instrument. MMS was launched in March 2015, and is currently in the science operations phase. The SDP instruments operate well, and calibrated science data since the start of nominal operations have been released for public use. IRF and KTH play a key role in in-flight calibration, processing and archiving of SDP data as well as in operation of the SDP intrument. Here we apply for funding to continue these activities for the remaining part of the science operations and in the post-operations phase.
